Barrow Railway Station Adoption Group - This Year
Task Reports for 2026:
Our main group of volunteers meet on the last Sunday of each month to help maintain the station. During late autumn and early winter this changes to weekly to keep the steps and platforms clear of leaves.
Our Gardening Group volunteers meet at least once monthly during winter months and weekly during the rest of the year for watering and weeding.
Our next task will be on - last Sunday of each Month - 30th August at 09:30
- 26th July - P2 fence painting, Steps to P1 dry brushed
- 31st May - Painting, varnishing, flowers, bicycle wheels
- 19 April - Brushing steps, fence and platforms
- 3rd, 6th and 8th March - Preparing for, and hurdle making
- 22nd Feb - General Clean up
- 8th Feb - Garden Group - Willow hurdles
- 25th Jan - Discussion about our plans for 2026
Approval to extend our artwork on Platform 2 has been granted and undertaken in 2025.
